First things first: The Introduction
Hello! This is my first post in this blog and I wish to introduce myself to you. I am the Otaku Scientist. I am a graduate student of a Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. program, I hold a bachelors degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology. Currently, I am working on my thesis project at my institution, but I enjoy very much writing. Although writing is a big aspect of my career (grants, fellowships, progress reports, etc) I prefer non-technical writing with the space to be creative and connect dots people don't often see. And though I need empirical evidence to support my proposals I believe that sometimes a hunch is as valid as one hundred peer-reviewed papers. Being a graduate student means I have a LOT of work starting from reading papers to be more than eight hours a day at the lab doing experiments and analyzing data. But not every day is like this, I am an avid defender of me-time just because it's necessary to be able to go through graduate studies with good mental health...
